Red Palm scourge of palm tree
The red palm weevil attack 19 palm species worldwide. The larvae are harmful to various species of palm trees, sugar cane, bananas. Currently, the pest is reported in almost 15% of the global coconut-growing countries and in nearly 50% of the date palm-growing countries.

Signs of damage to the trees:
Drying of the Central rosette in the palm tree, changing the color of the leaves;
Vowering of the leaves, the crown of the palm tree gets a roof-like appearance;
- the presence of flight holes on the trunks of palm trees, the size of the holes can reach up to 3 cm or more in diameter.
- breaking off the trunks of palm trees.

The Solution
The Algerian National Plant Protection Institute (INPV) with whom we cooperate since 1979, they ask us to find the solution for another big problem: the Red Weevil Palm.
Algeria is one of the bigger producer of date in the world and they have tens of millions of Palm. The loss of production caused by the red weevil palm is very important in term of loss money and for palm tree dead.

Our engineer developed an equipment that could spray the chemical product until 20 mt hight liquid or powder, we sent to Algeria and we test it in Tolga plantation near Biskra.
During the first test the users told us that the result of the sprayer was great but it was difficult to move within the plantation. Also if with 3 people was very hard to move.
To solve this problem we have equipped the second prototype with a crawler and an indipendet engine. Now just one people could mouve the prototype within the palantation. The only problem was that it was necessary to stop the prototype to spray the product.
Third Prototype
To solve this problem, we have mounted a remote controlled cannon.
The third prototype was test with great results. Only one person could get the machine off the pickup to work in the plantation, managing the progress of the machine and at the same time spraying the product where desired without ever having to stop.
